A fun portrait

My brother-in-law and nephew taken at a family function today. Decided on B/W for this and added some grain/noise.

I missed the last two days of my PAD due to time constraints. I am finding that trying to meet my daily photo has become a chore rather than a challenge. I will continue to try, but if I find I am just trying to snap a last minute shot every night, then the experience is not really a learning experience and may just post occasionally instead.

For those of you who have kept it up... great job! I know I have fallen way behind on commenting, but I am looking at the PADs in the meantime. I will try to get back on track with commenting soon. Thank you to all of you who comment on my photos.

Higher education...

It really blows my mind when I see what they are teaching in elementary school these days. This is a page from a fifth grade math book. I don't think I learned to graph equations until junior high school or later!

And the fun begins...

Well, the demolition crew showed up today to start the demo work on the pool area in the back yard. I swear it looked much better yesterday!

Second moon photo of the year

Well, since we had a full moon tonight, I decided to try another moon photo for my PAD shot today. Processing included levels and sharpening. I think it's a bit oversharpened, but I like the look in this case.

More experimentation with light.

I have been really busy and very short on time. I am not sure how much longer I can keep up my PAD... I have very little time to find shots and zero time to comment lately. If I get a good block of time in the next few days, I will try to catch up on comments.

White on white...

Well, here I am, short on time and ideas again, so I decided to try something simple... white on white. Without a softbox or tent, some reflections are still visible, but overall, I am relatively happy with the how the lighting looks on this.

Some more minor experimentation with lights. I wish I really had more time to play around with different ideas. Yes, yes, I know the glass on the left is tilted... I just didn't have the time to set it up again and re-shoot.

I had a little bit of time today, so I decided to experiment a bit and play around with a couple of different ideas and props.

Edit: For those who asked... its simply some marbles on construction paper. 30 sec. exposure in the dark, with a few passes using a laser pointer.
